6 Warm Weather Getaways to Take This Winter

We are midway through the season and warm weather is unfortunately still a couple months away for Boston. Winter is the perfect time to escape to somewhere warm, and Flats on D’s Getaway Giveaway will allow one lucky winner to do just that.

Our Getaway Giveaway winner will receive an air fare, hotel, and Visa gift card totaling up to a $1,500 value. Where would you travel? Here is our list of warm weather winter getaways perfect for a long weekend:

San Diego, CA

Just a stone’s throw from Mexico, San Diego is sure to be warmer than Boston.  San Diego is packed with beaches, hiking trails, and outdoor activities perfect for the adventurous type. Spend your days hiking the Sunset Cliffs, exploring Balboa Park, and visiting the world-famous San Diego Zoo under the warm California sun.

Savannah, GA

If you think you will miss Boston’s historic sites and Colonial roots why not spend a long weekend in Savannah, Georgia? Savannah is great for hunting for unique antiques that will spice up your apartment’s décor and filling up on delicious soul food. (Try Alligator Soul in the historic district!)

New Orleans, LA

With Mardi Gras right around the corner New Orleans is a great destination to shake yourself from the winter blues. Get in touch with the city’s mysterious past by taking one of NOLA’s many cemetery tours and shopping for Voodoo dolls. Spend your evenings listening to live jazz at a local bar, Maple Leaf Bar is our favorite!

Austin, TX

No city does art and music quite like Austin. Shop in local galleries and visit Austin’s giant Zilker Park during the day, and then experience Austin’s live music and night life each night on the city’s famous 6th Street.

Las Vegas, NV

Need we say more?

Nashville, TN

If you’re into country music then Nashville is the place for you. Tennessee’s capital city is jam-packed with country musicians and it definitely shows. Check out the Country Music Hall of Fame, shop in Nashville’s many boutiques, and spend your evenings on Nashville’s Honky Tonk Highway where some of the industry’s largest stars got their start.
