Play Ball!

Even though the 2015-2016 Red Sox Baseball Season started a week ago, tomorrow marks a very important day for all Bostonians and Red Sox Fans…Opening Day at Fenway Park! Whether it is your first or your fiftieth Opening Day at Fenway, we think there are some things that everyone should experience while watching a few innings at oldest baseball stadium in the country.

The Green Monsta will see some upgrades in its 103rd year ((technically 102 years and 357 days)). With the addition of 174 new seats, the stadium can now seat 37,673 fans or foes. The stadium’s WiFi network has also received a massive upgrade so all in attendance will be able to Instagram a photo of themselves with a Fenway Frank or Live Tweet a game for all their friends who had to work that day!

Gates will open at 1:05pm for the 3:05pm game against the Washington Nationals. Near each gate, you will be able to find a variety of restaurants and bars where you can grab a bite to eat or a cool beer before the game! Cask N’Flagon is a Landsdowne favorite, offering great drinks and finger food to enjoy before or during the game. Get in line early, as this bar fills up quickly on game days. Bleacher Bar is actually located underneath the Green Monster and is definitely a location you should visit once in your Fenway Years. The Baseball Tavern is located behind the Park and has an awesome roof deck which rocks during the late spring and summer seasons.

One of the newest attractions to Fenway Park is a rooftop garden called Fenway Farms. “The garden will change seasonally but staple herbs and veggies include carrots, cucumbers, eggplant, kale, tomatoes, basil, chives, cilantro, rosemary, and thyme. The plan is to use the garden not only to serve home-grown concessions during games and other Fenway events, but to also use it go educate local youth on healthy eating and the importance of environmental preservation.” For more information on this addition to the stadium, check out the Bostinno article .

Whether you know every man on the roster or are asking the person next to you “Who’s on 1st?”, we hope you enjoy Opening Day and the Red Sox’s 2015-2016 season! 4-1 and 1st in the AL Eastern Division GO SOX!1024px-RedSoxSecondary_Circle.svg
