FIND YOUR PERFECT FIT
Susan G. Komen
If you live at Flats on D or any Bozzuto community, I’m sure you are seeing a lot of Pink this month and are wondering “What is all this #PaintOurTownPink?” Well, I’m sure most may know but if not, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month! Every year Bozzuto recognizes this month and encourages “us” the employees, residents, and communities to raise as much money for the Susan G. Komen foundation. We do so by challenging ourselves creatively to raise as much money so we can support this cause.
All from what started as $200 in a shoebox, in 1982 the foundation was born. The foundation was started by Nancy G. Brinker. Nancy was Susan’s sister. In 1980, Nancy made Susan a promise that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. Since this foundation has been around, it has invested billions into research and reduced deaths from Breast Cancer by 34% since 1990.
This cause is simply amazing and we are so proud to be a part of it, so should you! So next time you are wearing Pink this month, take a picture, flaunt it, and post to any social media account using the #PaintOurTownPink. Oh yeah, don’t be afraid to throw in #FlatsOnD.
